Profile

Angela Lauria is a marketing professional with thirteen years of experience in internet and mobile marketing. In 1994, Dr. Lauria has been a consultant providing marketing strategy and implementation services to new and growing businesses. An expert in the techniques of search engine and affiliate marketing, Web 2.0 and long tail strategies, and experiential and viral tactics. She implemented traditional and guerilla marketing strategies both online and offline for clients in a variety of industries including media/entertainment, technology, wireless communications, and retail. She also produced and coordinated participation in road shows, trade shows, and other industry events.

In addition, she is adjunct faculty at The George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs where she teaches film; and at Northern Virginia Community College where she teaches public speaking and business writing.

Among her 50+ consulting clients is Voxant, an online news syndication firm for which Dr. Lauria developed go-to-market strategies based on syndicated and secondary research. She created and maintained a competitive matrix and summaries of competitor activity as well as wrote market analyses, press releases, and corporate collateral. For Engenia, a high-tech software company, Dr. Lauria managed all aspects of the branding, budgeting, and marketing strategies. This involved designing and developing messages, collateral, web sites, customer solutions, and presentations along with working with the outside sales team to target prospects/customers in specific verticals. She generated all sales leads from search engine marketing, event/tradeshow management, direct mailing, and telemarketing. Dr. Lauria also grew and managed the telemarketing team of 6 with a collective target of 144 presentations to clients and $900,000 in new business each quarter.

On a project for eStudentLoan, a web-based comparative loan firm, Dr. Lauria ran one of the very first pay-per-click search campaigns, developed a proprietary affiliate program, and managed a team of 10 affiliate recruiters. She implemented cross-linking and viral marketing programs to increase search engine visibility as well as initiating online advertising, linkage, and other web traffic partnerships.

As General Manager of Airborne Entertainment\'s Direct to Consumer division, Dr. Lauria was responsible for managing a team of 9 employees, developing customer acquisition/retention strategies, buying media, initiating guerilla marketing tactics, and executing mobile promotions campaigns. She also built an online destination experience for consumers by leveraging the Airborne catalog of branded mobile content.

At Opera Telecom USA, Dr. Lauria served as Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Management responsible for managing the extensive landing page, web site, and product development efforts to build and improve product offerings. She developed web-based marketing programs, including pay-per-click campaigns, paid inclusion listings, banner advertisement campaigns, and affiliate marketing programs targeted at driving new and returning customers. She monitored website activity using web log analysis and internal marketing systems as well as provided weekly/monthly sales and performance analysis of marketing campaigns. Dr. Lauria also developed retention programs to support extensive acquisition efforts and conducted primary research (focus groups) to develop the business plan for the company’s social marketing growth strategy.

Dr. Lauria also served as Marketing Director for mPortal responsible for an annual $500,000 budget for all corporate and event marketing needs. This included building a strategic media plan involving the development of strategic media lists, placing earned media, and joint marketing opportunities. She also created and implemented an extensive branding campaign, lead generation, and customer acquisition database.

For AllAdvantage.com, Dr. Lauria was the senior media strategist responsible for managing 16 campaigns, identifying client advertising solutions, and working with the sales team to present products to current clients. She managed resources associated with internal and external research, industry/company knowledge, and campaign development. Her efforts helped to maximize the return on advertising expenditure and exceed monthly sales targets.

A dynamic and motivating public speaker, Dr. Lauria has a B.A. in Journalism and an M.A. in Media & Public Affairs from The George Washington University and a Ph.D. in Communications from Switzerland’s Europäische Universität für Interdisziplinäre Studien. Dr. Lauria is an avid supporter of cultural exchange programs and a passionate activist for mother-friendly maternity care. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and son.
