Profile
When organizations need help developing their people, they turn to Douglas E. Noll. From negotiation skills to leadership, from conflict management to communications, Doug has solved organizational and leadership problems for hundreds of companies through his innovative, entertaining, and educational talks and seminars. You benefit from his deep experience in teaching your people how to approach and solve difficult business problems centered on your issues and your goals. Professionally, Doug is a lawyer turned peacemaker, and he has mediated over 1,500 difficult, complex, and intractable conflicts. He graduated from Dartmouth College, earned his law degree at University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law where he was a member of the law review, and earned his M.A. in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies from Fresno Pacific University where he was awarded the Graduate Dean’s Award for academic excellence. Doug introduced new approaches to diversity in the workplace in his ground breaking book, Sex, Politics & Religion at the Office: The New Competitive Advantage (Auberry Press 2006), co-authored with his colleague Dr. John Boogaert. He has taught advanced leadership principles internationally as a senior consultant with Mobius Executive Leadership and as a principal in the consulting firm of Boogaert & Noll. Doug travels the world teaching people about human conflict, how our brains sometimes get in the way of our desire for peace, and practical tips for what we can do about finding true peace with our enemies. As a law professor, Doug needed a book to teach his students how to follow him as a lawyer-peacemaker and wrote Peacemaking: Practicing at the Intersection of Law and Human Conflict (Cascadia 2002) for that purpose. Doug’s international expertise is highlighted in his latest book Elusive Peace: How Modern Diplomatic Strategies Could Better Resolve World Conflicts (Prometheus, 2011). As a lawyer, Doug is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, is a northern California Super Lawyer, and has been voted as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2005, by U.S. News and World Report. Doug is also a second degree black belt in Chinese kung fu and has taught tai chi for over 10 years. He has a variety of other interests and accomplishments including certification as a Level III ski instructor, instrument-rated private pilot with multi-engine and helicopter ratings, Irish fiddler and jazz violinist, whitewater kayaker and rafter, and fly fisherman. Doug hosts The Doug Noll Show, at www.wsradio.com and is live Thursday evenings at 7 pm Pacific. His life experiences, practical knowledge, and deep academic background will create a learning experience that will not soon be forgotten by your people. To this day, when he returns to client companies, employees remind him of talks and seminars he gave over five years ago. His stuff sticks. |
