Profile
Since graduating from University of Toronto’s Rotman Business School in 1983, Karim has over 20 years of senior-level experience in hospital management and the development of complex healthcare and cultural facilities worth some $750 million. In many cases, he was often told certain goals just could not be achieved (major land rezoning, securing hundreds of millions in government funding, etc.). Fortunately, telling him something is “impossible” is like waving a red flag in front of a bull – you know what happens! For over 4 years, Karim managed the strategic planning initiatives at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, one of Canada’s largest and most renowned teaching hospitals. Karim also has 25 years of volunteer management experience, involving extensive project management and strategic planning with senior level corporate executives. Having completed what he set out to achieve at Sunnybrook, Karim joined his family’s web consulting and design business, and helped transform it into the leading provider of e-communication services to independent schools in Canada, with a growing U.S. practice. In January 2009 he sold the school business to allow him to focus on helping corporations and individuals set and achieve huge goals. Karim’s entrepreneurial, “let’s just do it” experience is invaluable when working with corporations. Keep Any Promise: a blueprint for designing your future is based on the thinking, tools and techniques Karim developed over twenty years of managing multi-million-dollar architecturally unique buildings and five years of intensive research. He applied this thinking to fuel his own dramatic personal transformation after his personal life was completely out of balance and hit rock bottom in 2002, despite huge corporate success. For example, in less than two years after not being able to walk to the end of his driveway because of 20 years of increasingly debilitating back pain, Karim climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in early 2005 with his then 21 year daughter! Keep Any Promise has quickly become a best-seller, and thousands of people are already implementing the strategies outlined to fuel and transform their corporate and personal lives. |
