Lawrence has facilitated classes for close to 5,000 managers and professionals around the world. Change topics taught include: announcing change, developing and articulating your business case, reducing resistance and gaining commitment to change, coaching employees with the emotions and skills needed for change, keeping people focused and motivated, handling difficult career conversations, engaging remote or virtual employees and addressing performance problems during change. Lawrence’s experience leading change in organizations is extensive: first as an IT professional developing and launching new software, then as a Training & Communications Manager implementing organizational improvements, and since 1993 as a consultant to organizational leaders. His expertise extends into the areas of initiating and implementing changes including new structures, new projects, new leadership roles and new strategies. Lawrence also specializes in coaching and training professionals in improving their Emotional Intelligence. He is a certified administrator of the BarOn Eqi, the first scientifically validated emotional intelligence assessment used by over 200,000 people worldwide. This expertise was developed through his post-graduate work at the Institute for Human Development, under the direction of Dr. Wilson Tilley. This graduate work focused on the impact of emotions on problem solving, decision making and relationships.
