Stein, M.D., is a psychiatrist, physician leader, author, speaker, and teacher, and is the former Chief of Behavioral Health for the Ohio region of Kaiser Permanente, where she specializes in integrating treatment of obesity, wellness, stress management, work issues, life-balance, mind-body-spirit, and depression and aging into individual and corporate wellness. She was the recipient of the Kaiser Permanente 2010 Humanitarian Award for Community Service for her work on obesity and community health and wellness. Her expertise and congenial way of delivering healthcare information make her a favorite guest on Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS and national radio shows including ranging from shock jocks to NPR. Thousands of people have heard her energetic and inspiring message in person and in the media. One of a small number of psychiatrists in the country who is certified in Psychiatric Administration and Management, Dr. Stein has managed Behavioral Health departments for 10 years. She is innovative, attentive to quality and utilization, with broad-reaching program development, educational trainings and morale boosters. Dr. Stein lectures frequently on topics including corporate wellness, work-life balance, working from the heart, mind-body-spirit, stress management, obesity, women's health, obese discrimination, social media in healthcare, social media for teens including bullying, workplace violence prevention, and leadership in health care. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and received her M.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.Dr. Stein trained in General Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, and General Psychiatry at MetroHealth Hospitals of Cleveland and Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed a combined National Institutes of Mental Health-Stanford University fellowship in Human Development.
