Sharon M. Weinstein, MS, CRNI, RN FAAN
Sharon is an energetic, motivating and highly skilled consultant specializing in corporate training programs and motivational speaking presentations. Her background includes 30 years as an educator in a diversity of environments on such subjects as: Customer Service, Communications, Leadership, Teambuilding, Negotiation Skills, Second Generation Leadership, Workplace Wellness, Ethics, Problem Solving, Change, Stress and Time Management and Humor in the Workplace. She enjoys working with clients in a variety of industries, including, but not limited to - Hospitality, Health, Finance, Merchandising and Technology.
A Certified Physical and Environmental Wellness Specialist, Sharon has attained multiple recognitions, including the prestigious Wellness Consultant of the Year for North America/2006 and 2007. Founder of the Integrative Health Forum, a consortium of healthcare professionals whose goal is to identify the role for the health professions in health, wellness and prevention and to establish the evidence base for wellness practice, Sharon ignites others to action. A content expert on Diabesity, Women’s Health, Healthy Homes, and Workplace Wellness, her articles have been published in Remarkable Woman Magazine, The Sierra Club Midwest, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives newsletter and multiple business publications.
Concurrently, she is President of a not-for-profit educational initiative aimed at enhancing leadership skills. She directed the International Nursing Leadership Institute (INLI) in the new independent states of the former Soviet Union (NIS), and Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. INLI provides leadership training and association building expertise. INLI is the outcome of twelve years of experience as director of a partnership initiative linking US healthcare facilities with their foreign partners in the NIS/CEE regions. Sharon was recently named an International Advisor to the Nightingale Initiative on Global Health (NIGH). She was also recognized by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) as an Exceptional Woman/Exceptional Leader for 2006; this program honors women entrepreneurs who have integrated business success with a commitment to serving others.
With credentials in aging and gerontology, human capital management, and business, she truly leads the field. She is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Public Health, Mental Health and Administrative Nursing and in the Institute for Healthcare Innovation at the University of Illinois College of Nursing. She is a frequent presenter at domestic and international meetings and symposia and the author of Nursing Without Borders, B is for Balance (Oct 08) and Workplace Wellness (Mar 09)
