Profile

Biography:

As a coauthor of three books on communication, life balance and presentation skills, Allison Blankenship is sought after to both coach and train business executives and organizations in becoming powerful leaders and communicators.  Allison speaks across the country 150 times a year, many times to repeat clients year after year.

“Allison has presented keynotes and facilitated seminars for us for several years now.  Her confidence, knowledge, humor and unbridled enthusiasm make each of her sessions a wonderful experience for our employees.  Her evals are near perfect and the compliments we her about her remind us why we bring Allison back year after year.”  Ron Nash, Organizaitonal Develoment, Virginia Beach City Public Schools

An award-winning career of corporate communications and marketing prepared Allison to consult with organizations on communicating under pressure, boost productivity, and become outstanding leaders.  After being honored as an Outstanding Young Woman of America, Allison became the youngest Regional Director of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and was a member of the management team that won the Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award.  She served as president of the Florida Speakers Association and has been a member of the prestigious National Speakers Association for more than 10 years.

“Allison presents content in a refreshing and practical way that attendees can understand and immediately put into practice.  Allison's style appeals to multiple levels of learners, from front line to executive.”  Dora Krauss, Director of Training, NCH Healthcare Systems

She was named the Speaker of the Year by her peers in the Florida Speakers Association and retained by National Seminars Group/Padgett Thompson to write and develop a curriculum on executive presentation skills.

“After taking your (presentations skills) class, I completely changed my approach to public speaking.  Your insight into presentation skills, speaking strengths and creating buy-in were worth the time and effort.  This has been one of the most useful classes the district has offered.”  Mershad Nourani, SWF Water Management District

Allison is recognized as a top consultant on both leadership and women's issues, and one of three women chosen for the national tour of the Women’s Leadership Conference sponsored by Rockhurst University.  She was honored in 2004 with the Jim Barber Leadership Award for the state of Florida.

“Thank you so much for an outstanding women's leadership conference.  It was by far one of the best workshops I've attended in my 18 years at Rockland Trust.”  Susan Laidlaw, Rockland Trust Bank

Organizations around the globe applaud Allison's energetic, interactive and content-rich programs.  Clients consistly comment on the easy application of tools and strategies Allison presents:

“Two days after our program, one of my team members wrote an EASY script and used it to talk to an individual in the company with whom she has had difficulty in the past.  She was so excited afterwards when she saw first hand how much this technique has helped her.”  Gail Van Beveren, Director, HRD & Corporate Services, Everest Reinsurance Company

Allison's ability to reach diverse audiences at staff or executive levels means more flexibility for you in scheduling topics and programs.  She and her husband divide their time between Birmingham, AL and Naples, FL.

Dynamic Presentation Skills

for Technical Professionals

If you present to governing boards or upper management, you may find yourself as one in one hundred cattle call presentations…how do you make your statistics and data stand out? Especially when you are given just a few minutes to explain complex information to non-technical decision makers.

Dynamic Presentation Skills for Technical Professionals is specifically designed for these types of presentations. Perhaps you’ve been given an unrealistic time allotment or the information you are required to present is not what the audience wants to hear. How do you capture and hold their attention during marathon presentations or right after lunch?  What can you do to create buy-in and motivate people to take action?

These are the types of scenarios you’ll master in this two-day, hands-on, interactive skill development program.  Here are just a few of the skills and tools you’ll develop in Dynamic Presentation Skills for Technical Professionals:

  • Use the Rule of 7 to keep your audience’s attention
  • Make your information and message memorable using the “Phrase That Pays”
  • Use the Focus Formula to target your message and memorize your presentation
  • Create buy-in with benefits-oriented key points
  • Manage disruptions and questions with ease
  • Become confident and powerful behind the lectern
  • Get your message heard correctly and remembered
