“His Soul Came Into Iron” by Dr. Josiah Rich

In an ancient novella a young man received a special gift from his father.  This gift created envy in the hearts of his brothers. Their envy mutated into an attitude that led them to dispose of their brother by selling him into slavery.

The betrayed brother did not realize at the time that this unfortunate event was a stepping stone to a greater purpose for his life.  He would be groomed by a series of great trials and learn to cultivate conflict into opportunity.  He learned that true growth in maturity is the product of patience under trial.  In whatever milieu he found himself he knew that there was movement toward a greater purpose.

Through knock-downs in life his soul came into iron.  He had to experience the threatening witness against his existence without remedy.  A remedy would remove the intended poignancy of his militant experiences.

Knock-downs in life must complete their design to destabilize and collapse the old way of being so that the new life can continue the momentum toward the new purpose.
