My men’s bible study at my church Mount Paran in Atlanta on Monday nights is one of my most favorite places to be each week. As a believer in Christ, I am very intrigued with Gods word and I find my self learning so many new life lessons. What is more amazing to me is how Gods word the Holy Bible is so very inspiring in teaching us how we are to be visionary’s and strive to be at our very best each and every day.
I love to read Gods word, as I am always having great vision in my daily life applications and how I go about accomplishing any task that stands before me. I am currently reading a great book by Andy Stanley titled “VISIONEERING” The book is a blue print from God for developing and maintaining our vision we have set for ourselves in life.
As a Motivational Speaker, I always do my dead level best to get my audience focused on their personal vision and their plan of attack. A Vision is the course we follow to make our dreams to become a reality. The process where our ideas and convictions, take on great substance. Our vision for life should always bring Inspiration; we will fall under conviction to start an action with sheer determination for completion to reach our destination in life.
We all know that life is a journey, and we also know that every journey is going to end up somewhere. Therefore we must have vision for our journey in life. My vision focuses on my walk with God, my career as a “Motivational Speaker” to inspire others to become their very best, and living what I teach others as I work very hard to give my family the very best life, that I can give them.
To have a clear vision and the courage to follow through will dramatically increase our chances of coming to the end of our life, and looking back with a great feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction in knowing that we did it. That we ran a great race, we fought a great fight, and we finished strong. That we succeeded and our life counted to our loved ones and we made a positive impact on others, all because we had vision and we put our vision into action that developed to prove good fruit, and we did make a difference in others life’s.
I would like to give you four things for you to apply in your journey and help you to focus on your vision so that you can become your very best.
1. Passion – Our vision evokes emotion and having wants and needs in life is emotional. Vision, is always accompanied by a desire to reach a certain goal. Therefore the clearer our vision, the stronger our emotion. This brings a strong passion and a desire to finish strong.
2. Motivation – Our vision creates motivation. Vision driven people are very motivated people. When I am speaking, I always tell my audience if they can show me a person who lacks motivation, that I will show them a person who has little or no vision. Do they have Ideas, yes – Dreams, maybe – But as for Vision, they have none.
3. Direction – What I really love so much about having vision for my life is that it sets a course of direction in our lives. Direction gives us a road map. Having vision simplifies our decision making ability. Vision will help us to prioritize our values. A clear vision will make it easy to weed out those things that stand in the way of achieving what matters most in our life.
4. Purpose – Vision translates into purpose. Our vision gives us a reason to get up in the morning and hit the ground running. If we don’t show up, then nothing will get accomplished. Our vision is an important link between our current reality and our hope for the future. Without vision, good things will hinder us from achieving the best things that life has to offer us. Our set of visions is unique to us, and no-one else will share our particular passions for what could be our greatest minute that stands before us.
The happiest people in life may not have the best of everything, but they know how to make the best out of anything.
When understanding your vision, you must be a go getter. You must understand that anything worth having is bought with a price; and in most case the price is always hard work, patience, love and self sacrifice.
In closing I hope to inspire everyone who reads this to lock in on your vision. Take aim and see your self there. Share your vision with friends and family, this helps to avoid the otherwise inevitable collision of conflicting expectations. It is easy to get all caught up in the details of any vision. We must set in concrete an unchanging standard and you must check your self along the way.
From time to time you should take a glance at the hard work you have done so you can see how your vision is starting to take shape as you have put it to action. Therefore your life will be a little easer, and your confidence will continue to grow stronger.
To think that you are now living your dream and it all started with a great vision you had for your life. Now you can see the completion of an inspired vision as you were determined to finish strong on your journey. Now you have a great feeling of satisfaction and completion as you have arrived at your final destination.
God Bless, Donnie Bolena
