Page 29 of ObamaCare Act

ObamaCare, officially known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is a dangerous obstruction to each individual’s health and to the health care industry as a whole.  In its current form it is not about health, it is about politicians, as elected arbiters of government policy, controlling each of our lives to serve and facilitate their own grandiose power grab.  The “ppaca” is filled with insidious language that if Americans were aware of, would be insulted and irate that anyone would be so arrogant as to think the citizens of this country will like and accept this mess.

To give you an example, I arbitrarily picked page 29 of the 974 page document to see what kinds of government intrusions we will be subjected to if this act comes to fruition.  Remember now, this is only one page of the document.  Officially this page is identified as Sec. 1 PPACA (Consolidated), and page 10 since it comes after a bunch of index pages but it remains the 29th page of the document as a whole.  A cursory glance down the page identified 9 lines that caught my attention and made my blood boil.  The first one I will point out is “Sec. 9002. Inclusion of cost of employer-sponsored health coverage on W-2”.  My interpretation of this line is that should an employer choose to provide health insurance coverage for the employees, then this plan will be identified as a non-government option for health coverage and employees are going to pay income tax on an amount equal to their individual share of the employer’s costs because it is now considered income to the employee.  This little line is of course, an attempt by the Obama administration to discourage employer provided health benefits.

Here is another good one. “Sec. 9013. Additional hospital insurance tax on high-income taxpayers.  My interpretation of this line is that the Obama administration basically wants to discourage you and me from working hard to become wealthy, independent and free to live life on our terms.  Just because the government will consider us wealthy we will have to pay more taxes, and notice, this line does not quantify what income level will be considered as high-income.  There are more Obamanations that you can check out such as an additional tax on distributions from HSAs and MSAs, limitations on health flexible spending arrangements under cafeteria plans, the expansion of information reporting requirements, an annual fee on health insurance providers, there will be modifications of itemized deductions for medical expenses and a whole lot more.
